Prague Castle Riding School/Designblok 2024

The crème de la crème of Czech design at the most prestigious address. A special exhibition, High Craft, will fill Prague Castle Riding School. The extraordinary curatorial selection by festival director Jana Zielinski and Designblok creative director Jiří Macek will present leading designers, design studios and companies that combine traditional craftsmanship and innovative, environmentally friendly approaches to production with the highest aesthetic standards.

The new Tititi series Inception draws inspiration from the fascinating world of physics and elementary particles, the key building blocks of all our surroundings. The author of the series, Tereza Talichová, admits that her relationship with physics has not always been harmonious, which gives the series an ironic and personal touch:

“The Inception series is my way of playfully grasping a fascinating but complex world of physics. I was attracted by the idea of creating my interpretation of how elementary particles look, given we cannot see them with our eyes. And I need to say that at elementary school, I almost failed Physics, so this is me renewing my connection to the subject,” shares the author of the series.

The new Tititi series Inception brings an original interpretation of elementary particles, which generally escape the reach of human perception. Figures such as Muon, Quark, Gluon and others represent a fascinating dialogue between physics and art. Each wooden figurine is hand-turned and hand-painted, transforming thus the abstract science concepts into a tangible, visually attractive form. Some figurines of the series are as tall as 50 cm. Every piece combines traditional craftsmanship with modern scientific theories. The series presents a unique collection where each figurine exists only as an original piece.
