Mezon théta – limited edition print by Patrik Antczak

At last year’s Designblok at the Prague Castle Riding Hall, illustrator Patrik Antczak created five original drawings to accompany the exhibition. Together, we selected the most striking one – Mezon théta. Patrik came all the way from Vienna to personally sign ten prints of this limited edition.

Patrik, Tititi’s resident illustrator, has a rich portfolio. In 2016, he published Alfabeta, a playful collection of worksheets that teach children the alphabet through cutting and coloring. He won a number of awards for it, including the Golden Ribbon and second place in the Most Beautiful Book of 2017 competition.

His illustrations for the books Left and Right (Emmemm Publishing, New York) and Ambiente earned him a nomination for Czech Grand Design in the Illustrator of the Year category in 2019.

Mezon theta, limited edition of ten signed copies, dimensions: 297 x 420 mm, paper: Munken Pure 300 gsm

How are Tititi figurines made?

Tititi is a brand founded in 2019 by Tereza Talichová, which has since managed to establish itself in the field of contemporary Czech design for children. It focuses on the author’s painted wooden figurines, personifying in an individual form a number of different types of people, artists or dramatic characters from theatrical or literary works, viewed through a playful lens and with attention to detail.

Each of the figures is first created by turning the body of the figurine from wood (spruce, oak, linden). Except for exceptions, it is a symmetrical, vertical shape, individualized according to the designed profile (silhouette) and then finished with an original painting
